Law Referral on Mandatory Notification of Parents in Case of Child Absence

The President of the Republic has referred back the laws regarding the mandatory notification of parents in case of their children's absence from kindergartens or infant care centers. According to a joint announcement by the Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth and the Deputy Ministry of Social Welfare, the referral concerns the practical implementation of the regulation.

The Government agrees with the philosophy of the amending laws, which aim to immediately inform parents about their children's absence. The regulation stipulated notifying parents within one hour of the scheduled arrival time.

The two competent Ministries are working to develop implementable solutions to ensure the essence of the regulation without burdening the functionality of the structures. The measures will be implemented in view of the new school year 2025-2026.

The Government reaffirms its commitment to strengthening the safety of children.
