Cypriot Diaspora Reacts to London-Ankara Defense Agreement

Upset has arisen among Cypriots in Britain regarding the recent defense agreement between the United Kingdom and Turkey, which includes the sale of 40 Eurofighter Typhoon fighter jets.
The British Cypriot Council expressed "serious concerns" in a letter to the Minister of Defense, referring to the political, ethical, and military consequences of the agreement, as well as Turkey's internal and external policy.
They are seeking clarification as to whether the British Government has received written assurances from Ankara that the aircraft will not be used against allies of the United Kingdom, such as Greece and Cyprus, with particular reference to the ongoing occupation of 37% of Cyprus by Turkey.
