Antoniou: Cyprus is part of the solution, not the problem

The Republic of Cyprus aims to function as a pillar of stability and security in the region, proving that it is part of the solution and not the problem, stated Deputy Government Spokesman Yannis Antoniou.

In a memorial speech for the hero Michael Ptochos in Pano Lefkara, Mr. Antoniou emphasized the need to restore the territorial integrity and full independence of Cyprus, without an occupying army.

Mr. Antoniou added that the Republic of Cyprus is not involved in military operations and is taking measures for the safety of the country and its citizens, in coordination with the European Union and third countries.

Referring to Michael Ptochos, he described him as a virtuous man and a fighter of EOKA.
