17 MPs Bid Farewell to Outgoing Cypriot Parliament

Seventeen outgoing Members of Parliament bid farewell to the House of Representatives, as they will not be candidates in the upcoming elections.

The MPs made brief assessments of their work, referred to issues that need improvement to upgrade parliamentary work, praised the contribution of the Parliament's staff, and thanked colleagues, parliamentary groups, and their voters.

Among the departing MPs are Charalambos Theopemptou, Kostis Efstathiou, Marios Karoyian, Ilias Myrianthous, Marinos Sizopoulos, Pavlos Mylonas, Christos Orphanides, Andros Kyprianou, Christos Christofias, Andreas Kavkalas, Costas Costa, Averof Neophytou, Marios Mavrides, Nikos Sykas, Onoufrios Koullas, Harris Georgiades, and Nikos Tornaritis.

The MPs referred to various issues, such as the duration of committee meetings, access to information from the Ministries, the need to protect the environment, and the importance of unity for resolving the Cyprus problem.
