Pay Raises for Military Personnel and Retroactive Payments for Retirees

Military personnel will receive pay raises ranging from 13% to 20% starting in October. Approximately 50,000 retirees will receive retroactive payments of up to €2,619 in September.

The new salary scale is being implemented gradually from April 1 and will be completed in October 2025. Around 80,000 military personnel will benefit from this.

The retroactive payments concern 50,000 retirees (out of a total of 70,000) due to the new method of calculating deductions based on Law 4093/2012. Refunds will be made automatically, without an application to EFKA.

The amounts are gross and subject to deductions for health care, Special Solidarity Contribution, and a 20% tax.
