Parliament Dissolves Ahead of Elections

The Speaker of Parliament, Annita Demetriou, announced the completion of the 12th parliamentary term, emphasizing Parliament's contribution to democracy and society.

In her address to the Plenary, she stated that over 1,000 bills and over 250 law proposals were passed during the period 2021 - 2026. Reforms were promoted in Local Government, the Public Service, the Judiciary, and Taxation.

Demetriou stressed the need for prudence ahead of the elections and the pursuit of the survival of Hellenism in Cyprus through the peaceful resolution of the Cyprus issue.
