D. Kouvelas: "Karystianou is considering entering politics"

Dimitris Kouvelas, president of Pnoi Dimokratias and professor at the Medical School of AUTH, stated that Maria Karystianou, mother of a victim of the Tempi train accident, is considering entering politics. In statements to StatusFM, Mr. Kouvelas said that he met with Ms. Karystianou twice and offered her his support, should she enter politics.
Mr. Kouvelas clarified that Ms. Karystianou has not decided whether to found her own party or join an existing political group. He also stated that Ms. Karystianou does not wish to cooperate with Zoe Konstantopoulou or other existing parties.
Regarding statements by Nikos Karachalios, who appears as an advisor to Ms. Karystianou, Mr. Kouvelas said that "he may have misunderstood some things." He stated that the only communication he had with Ms. Karystianou after their meetings was via SMS, where she asked him to suggest experts in economics.
Mr. Kouvelas emphasized that Ms. Karystianou's potential political move is a "political phenomenon" due to her great appeal to the public.
