Dendias at POMENS Amid Objections to Defense Bill

Minister of National Defence, Nikos Dendias, attended the Panhellenic Congress of POMENS in Athens, despite disagreements regarding the Ministry of Defence's multi-bill.
Associations of active and retired military personnel have expressed objections regarding the new grading system and the effort to streamline the hierarchical pyramid of the Armed Forces.
Nikos Dendias stated that the changes promoted with the "Agenda 2030" are based on the need to address the challenges in the country's geographical area.
In addition, he recalled the salary increases and the housing program for Armed Forces personnel, which includes 17,500 residences (10,500 newly built and 7,000 renovated).
Mr. Dendias assured that he is at the disposal of the Board of Directors of POMENS to discuss issues that improve the lives of personnel.
