Skip Owners Protest at Presidential Palace

Skip owners protested outside the Presidential Palace, demanding the protection of their profession. Members of the Pancyprian Association of Licensed Skip Transporters denounced the closure of a recycling unit and efforts to create a monopoly in the sector.
The protesters parked approximately 30 trucks outside the Presidential Palace and submitted a memorandum to the President of the Republic. The President of the Association, Panikos Drousiotis, stated that they received a phone call from the Ministry of Agriculture for a meeting on August 11, expressing hope for resolving the issues.
