Tychikos' Lawyer Accuses Archbishop of Threatening Defrocking

Evangelia Poulla, the lawyer for Tychikos, has launched a scathing attack against Archbishop Georgios of Cyprus, alleging a verbal threat of defrocking against former Metropolitan of Paphos, Tychikos. Ms. Poulla referred to "totalitarian tactics" and a refusal to hand over documents.

According to Ms. Poulla, the Archbishop determined the location and date of the memorial service for Tychikos' mother in Mesana, at a chapel of Agios Georgios, accessible only by high-clearance vehicle, on a Saturday. Furthermore, the lawyer claims that the Archbishop refuses to provide the relevant documents, including evidence and minutes requested by Tychikos.

Tychikos, through a letter, requests the guilty verdict of the Holy Synod of May 22, as well as the minutes of the sessions and the 20 pieces of evidence attached to the complaints against him.

Ms. Poulla described the Archbishop's tactics as "unacceptable" and reminiscent of "totalitarian regimes."
