OPEKEPE File: Conversations with MPs Under Scrutiny

The European Public Prosecutor's Office's (EPPO) case file on OPEKEPE, numbering over 3,000 pages, has been forwarded to the Parliament. According to reports, the file includes a 34-page document prepared by Poppi Papandreou, an official of the EPPO.
The case file was forwarded to investigate the possible commission of the offense of breach of trust and complicity in breach of trust by former Ministers of Rural Development and Food Makis Voridis (2019 - 2021) and Lefteris Avgenakis (2023-2024).
The summary includes excerpts from conversations recorded by the National Intelligence Service (EYP), involving MPs from New Democracy (10-12) and at least one from PASOK and SYRIZA. The conversations concern favors for voter producers - livestock farmers.
Government sources emphasize that the priority is the complete rehabilitation of OPEKEPE and the investigation of any criminal liabilities.
Today, the case file is accessible to MPs for study in the “168” hall of the Parliament.
