The Speaker of the House, Annita Dimitriou, stated that resolving the Cyprus problem remains the highest goal, while also emphasizing the need for justice for the crimes of the 1974 Turkish invasion.

In her speech at the national memorial service for heroes Michalakis and Andreas Makridis, Dimitriou stressed that finding the fate of the missing persons remains a non-negotiable priority. "The Turkish invasion of 1974 is the deepest cut in the modern history of the Republic of Cyprus," she said, adding that the occupation of a large part of our homeland continues.

The Speaker of the House reiterated the commitment to a comprehensive, viable, and just solution to the Cyprus problem, in accordance with International Law and the resolutions of the United Nations. She emphasized the need to end the occupation and ensure the unity and territorial integrity of Cyprus.

"With respect and adherence to International Law and the resolutions of the United Nations, we remain steadfastly committed to the goal of finding a comprehensive, viable, and just solution to the Cyprus problem," Dimitriou concluded.
