DISY: Closing checkpoints is dangerous, arrests of Greek Cypriots are vindictive

DISY has described the potential closure of checkpoints as dangerous, stressing that it would have a serious cost for the Cyprus issue. In a statement, the party stated that such a decision would be condemned by the EU and the UN, serving Turkey's divisive goal.

DISY also condemned the arrest and detention of Greek Cypriots in the occupied territories by the Tatar regime, considering it to be based on vindictive motives. It called on the government to take diplomatic action for the release of the detainees.

DISY called on the President of the Republic to respond to EDEK and ELAM, who are calling for the closure of the checkpoints, and called on all political forces to take a position.
