EDEK to Promote Bills for Local Government Improvement

EDEK President Nikos Anastasiou visited the Famagusta District Self-Government Organisation and discussed the organisation's problems with Yannis Karousos.

Mr. Anastasiou stated that bills will be promoted in Parliament to improve the reform of Local Government, and interventions will be made in the Ministries to solve problems faced by the District Self-Government Organisations.

The President of the Famagusta DSOA, Yannis Karousos, thanked EDEK for the visit and referred to the problems of funding projects and the need to improve services to citizens.

Special mention was made of the problems with the former Kokkinochoria Sewerage Board and the need to finance infrastructure projects.
