The prosecutor in the Novartis trial has recommended the conviction of Maria Marangeli and Filistoras Destebasidis for false testimony. The recommendation concerns their testimonies regarding bribes to politicians.

The prosecutor sought the conviction of M. Marangeli for false testimony regarding Antonis Samaras, Andreas Loverdos, Marios Salmas, Adonis Georgiadis, Yannis Stournaras, Lina Nikolopoulou, Dimitris Avramopoulos, and Nikos Maniadakis. For F. Destebasidis, the conviction proposal concerns part of his testimony about Adonis Georgiadis, Yannis Stournaras, Lina Nikolopoulou, and Dimitris Avramopoulos.

The prosecutor emphasized that M. Marangeli presented her testimony about the politicians as actual events, while F. Destebasidis attributed his statements to Konstantinos Frouzis.

Conversely, the prosecutor recommended the acquittal of the two defendants on the charge of false denunciation.
