Event on the 1950 Enosis Referendum by "Foni Patridas"

The Action Community of Autonomous Greeks "Foni Patridas" is organizing an event dedicated to the 1950 Enosis Referendum. The event, titled "The Desire for Enosis: Utopia or a Choice of Survival?", will take place on Friday, January 16, 2026, at 19:30, in the Hall of Heroes of the EOKA Liberation Struggle Foundation, in Strovolos.

The aim of the event is the historical and political approach to the Enosis Referendum and its connection with the modern challenges faced by Cypriot Hellenism. Andreas Christofis, a doctoral candidate in Modern and Contemporary History at the University of Cyprus, journalist and writer Kornilios Hatzikostas, and Dr. Michalis Kontos, Associate Professor at the University of Nicosia, will be among the speakers.

"Foni Patridas", an autonomous group of citizens founded in November 2025, aims to awaken society, preserve historical memory, and strengthen the Greek element in Cyprus.
