The Left political group (LEFT) in the European Parliament is organizing an event in Athens on November 21, 2025, focusing on the value of life at work in Greece and Europe. The event will take place at the Cultural Center of the Municipality of Athens.

The event will feature a presentation of research by Dr. Andreas Stoimenidis on workplace accidents and occupational diseases. According to the research, workplace accidents in Greece are reaching a humanitarian crisis level, with 164 deaths and 253 serious injuries in 2025.

In the European Union, 3,300 workers were killed and three million injured in one year. The research points out that Greek authorities only record a portion of workplace accidents and do not record occupational diseases.

The event will be attended by leading figures from the European and Greek political and scientific community, including Leila Chaibi, Verónica Martínez Barbero, Marili Mexi, Dimitris Ploumpidis, Giannis Kouzis, and Tasos Petropoulos. Greetings will be delivered by Haris Doukas, Yolanda Díaz, and Li Andersson.

The event will be broadcast on YouTube.
