Tychikos' Appeal to Patriarchate: Called for Explanations

Former Metropolitan of Paphos, Tychikos, has been summoned to the Ecumenical Patriarchate around mid-October, according to the Press Representative of the Archdiocese of Cyprus, Christakis Efstathiou.
As Mr. Efstathiou stated to CNA, the invitation was extended because the synodals deemed it necessary for Tychikos to provide explanations on various matters. The Archbishop has not been summoned, and at this stage, no one else is expected to be called apart from Tychikos.
Mr. Efstathiou mentioned that after Bishop Tychikos' visit, they will await the decision on the appeal, i.e., whether it is accepted or rejected. If accepted, Tychikos' request is satisfied, while if rejected, the decisions of the Holy Synod of the Church of Cyprus are ratified.
The Holy Synod has decided that Bishop Tychikos is removed from the throne of the Metropolis of Paphos and has been summoned to the Archdiocese. Bishop Tychikos claims that the Holy Synod did not function as a Court and that he was not given the opportunity to defend himself.
CNA reports that Tychikos is preparing for his visit to the Phanar; however, he is reportedly burdened by the fact that he cannot officiate.
