Greek Forces Remain in Cyprus – Replacements for 'Kimon' and 'Psara'

Greek forces will remain in Cyprus for as long as necessary, due to the ongoing situation in the Middle East. According to Greek media, the four F-16 fighter jets that had been deployed to Cyprus from Souda three weeks ago have already been replaced by F-16s from Araxos and Larissa.
Furthermore, it is expected that within the next week, the frigates 'Kimon' and 'Psara' will be replaced by other warships of the Greek Navy. Athens intends to maintain its forces' presence in Cyprus, as emphasized by the Minister of National Defence of Greece, Nikos Dendias.
