European Council Meeting Possible After Trump Tariffs
Nikos Christodoulides indicated that a European Council meeting could be convened in the coming days to discuss the issue of Greenland and decide on a common approach by the European Union.
The Republic of Cyprus, as the presiding country of the European Council, convened an emergency meeting of the committee of permanent representatives, following statements by the American President regarding tariffs on European countries until the US is allowed to buy Greenland.
Regarding the invitation from the American President for the Republic of Cyprus to participate in the council for peace in Gaza, he said it is particularly honorable for Cyprus that its role in the region is recognized, especially by the USA.
Asked about the video that caused reactions, he said that an investigation is underway by the competent authorities of the Republic in cooperation with the support of foreign countries. It is important to see the results of this investigation.
