Tensions over farmer payments and OPEKEPE

Payment delays have caused financial problems for farmers, hindering new plantings and the purchase of basic supplies. At the same time, the European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF) is conducting an audit of OPEKEPE's finances.

The Minister of Rural Development, Kostas Tsiaras, is under pressure, with rumors circulating about his possible resignation. The government is called upon to complete the action plan for OPEKEPE by November 4, according to a letter from the EU.
