Macron to Visit Cyprus in 2025

French President Emmanuel Macron is expected to visit Cyprus in 2025. This was announced during a meeting between the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, and the French Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jean-Noël Barrot.
The French President's visit is considered to be of exceptional importance, as it will be the first bilateral visit to the Republic of Cyprus by a French President. The aim is to strengthen relations between the two countries in all areas.
During the visit, issues of common interest will be discussed, including the strengthening of institutional cooperation through the upgraded Strategic Agreement. Emphasis will also be placed on strengthening bilateral relations in the field of Defence.
President Christodoulides briefed the French Minister on developments in the Cyprus issue and stressed the importance of France's role, as a permanent member of the UN Security Council, in efforts to resolve it.
The French Foreign Minister assured that his country supports the efforts of the UN Secretary-General to restart negotiations.
