Erhürman Ready to Meet Olguin Later This Month

Turkish Cypriot leader Tufan Erhürman has stated his readiness to meet with the Personal Envoy of the UN Secretary-General, María Ángela Holguín, later this month. He said the aim is to accelerate work at the technical level and for Ms. Holguín's visit to yield concrete results in creating an atmosphere for a solution.

In a post on social media, Mr. Erhürman addressed three issues of public discussion. Regarding the talks, he mentioned that discussions at the technical level and diplomatic contacts are ongoing. He also reiterated the importance of direct flights, stressing that they will not abandon their demands on this issue.

Regarding the visits of European officials to the green line, Mr. Erhürman stated that he does not consider them very serious, emphasizing the need for a substantial solution to the Cyprus problem.
