Erhürman Refers Fiber Optic Agreement to 'Supreme Court'

Turkish Cypriot leader, Tufan Erhürman, has referred the 'law' regarding the Turkey-TRNC 'cooperation protocol' for the development of fiber optic infrastructure in the occupied territories to the 'supreme constitutional court'. The announcement was made via social media, citing 'article' 146 of the 'constitution'.
Erhürman added that the 'presidency' expects a written opinion from the 'attorney general' before any action or decision is taken.
The 'protocol' has provoked reactions from the 'telecommunications department' and trade unions. Trade union organizations had requested Erhürman's intervention. The 'agreement' concerns the concession of the project to Türk Telecom.
