European Defence: Will Turkish Drones Be Shot Down Too?

According to MEP Kostas Mavridis, the recent Summit in Denmark focused on European Defence and the proposal for European funding of a "wall against unmanned aerial vehicles (drones)" on Europe's eastern borders.
K. Mavridis argues that the Summit highlighted a "hole" in European Defence, as it does not provide a clear answer to the question of what the EU will defend. According to him, the aims of specific member states against the Russian threat are thus served, while the interests of Greece and Cyprus against Turkish expansionism are bypassed.
The MEP states that while Turkey violates the sovereign rights of Greece and occupies territories of Cyprus, European leaders are calling for the shooting down of drones that violate their airspace, referring to Russia, without mentioning Turkish violations.
K. Mavridis wonders why European Defence is not being promoted in the same way in the Eastern Mediterranean.
Finally, he mentions that Turkey has issued a new NAVTEX naval directive announcing research in the center of the Aegean.
