European Defence: Will Turkish Drones Be Shot Down Too?

According to MEP Kostas Mavrides, the recent Summit in Denmark focused on European Defence and the proposal for European funding of a 'wall against unmanned aerial vehicles (drones)' on Europe's eastern borders. Mavrides argues that European Defence, as designed, has a 'hole' as it does not answer the question of what the EU will defend.
The MEP states that the aims of specific member states against the Russian threat are being served, while the vital national interests of Greece and Cyprus against Turkish expansionism are being bypassed. He points out that Turkey issued a new NAVTEX naval directive announcing research in the center of the Aegean Sea and that Turkish planes, ships and drones violate the sovereign rights of Greece.
Mavrides wonders why, while the shooting down of drones violating the airspace of the Baltic countries and Poland is being discussed, the same is not being done for Turkish violations. He concludes by stating that in the same way that European Defence is being promoted on the eastern borders, it should also be promoted in the eastern Mediterranean.
