Famellos: SYRIZA will utilize Santorinios' legacy

SYRIZA-PS President Sokratis Famellos spoke at the Symposium for Insularity "Nektarios Santorinios" in Symi, emphasizing the party's commitment to utilize the legacy of Nektarios Santorinios. Mr. Famellos proposed that the symposium be institutionalized before the Thessaloniki International Fair (DETH) to be included in the national and European dialogue on island development.

Sokratis Famellos stressed that SYRIZA will continue Santorinios' work with proposals to improve the lives of islanders, strengthen local government, and promote policies for transport, health, energy, housing, and the environment. He referred to the Transport Equivalent, health initiatives, and desalination plants on the islands.

Mr. Famellos also proposed the institutional implementation of the reduced VAT regime on the islands, stressing that SYRIZA will submit a relevant proposal to the Parliament. He pointed out that a strong state can ensure a strong island policy and quality of life on the islands.
