Famellos: Strong attack on the government for corruption and cover-up in Tempe

The president of SYRIZA-PS, Sokratis Famellos, launched a strong attack on the government from the floor of the Parliament, during the discussion of the bill on the corruption registry. He accused the government of systematic violation of the rule of law and degradation of democracy.
Mr. Famellos referred to the wiretappings, the Tempe case, and OPEKEPE as examples of the dismantling of the rule of law. Regarding Tempe specifically, he spoke of covering up the crime, talking about a planned 'backfilling' from Maximos Mansion.
He also referred to the request of the relatives of the Tempe victims for exhumation of the bodies and conducting specialized chemical tests in foreign laboratories, calling on the Minister of Justice to allow it.
Finally, he criticized the handling of the wiretapping scandal and requested that Mr. Trimbalis appear before the Institutions and Transparency Committee.
