Famellos: Karistianou's position on abortions is 'obscurantist'

SYRIZA President Sokratis Famellos described Maria Karistianou's position on abortions as 'unacceptable and obscurantist'. Speaking to Real Fm, Mr. Famellos stressed that the issue of abortion is a fundamental right and is linked to the self-determination of a woman's body.

'It is a conquest of European societies, it is not open to debate. Its revision is a deeply conservative view, and similar positions are only found in the realm of Trumpist ideology,' he stated.

Mr. Famellos also referred to the unity of progressive forces, the agricultural sector, the Greek-Turkish dialogue, and international relations, criticizing the government on various issues.

Regarding the upcoming Mitsotakis-Erdogan meeting, Mr. Famellos stressed the need for clear terms and conditions in the Greek-Turkish dialogue, with the continental shelf being the only issue.

Finally, he criticized Donald Trump for his threats to Greenland and the Greek Prime Minister for his initial stance on the intervention in Venezuela.
