Philippa Karsera Resigns from Social Support Organization Following 'Relentless Attack'

The wife of the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Philippa Karsera, has announced her resignation from the Committee of the Independent Social Support Organization (AFKS), following a controversy sparked by a video.

In a lengthy post, Mrs. Karsera spoke of a 'relentless attack' she is receiving on social media, with the spread of fake news and defamatory comments.

Her decision comes after the budget of AFKS was strengthened and scholarships were provided to more children from poor families, as she mentions.

Mrs. Karsera will inform the Management Committee of AFKS of her decision at an emergency meeting. She stated that she will not allow her ethos and integrity, that of her husband and her family, to be slandered under the pretext of the operation of AFKS.

She also stated that she will maintain the same attitude towards the other charitable organizations in which she participates.
