Medical students from the University of Cyprus are organizing a protest outside the House of Representatives on Thursday, March 12, at 16:00. The reason is the delay in the promotion of the bill for the establishment of University Clinics and University Hospitals.

The meeting will take place at 15:15 at the Siakoleio Educational Center for Clinical Medicine (SEKKI) of the University of Cyprus. The bill, approved by the Council of Ministers on February 26, 2025, remains in the competent parliamentary committee.

The students emphasize that Cyprus is the only EU country without a University Hospital, despite the operation of three medical schools. They demand the immediate vote on the bill before the dissolution of Parliament on April 23, 2026.

The mobilization is coordinated by student Andria Papapetrou.
