Fytiris: Respect for displaced persons' rights a basic obligation of the State

The respect for the rights of displaced persons and legal owners is a basic obligation of the State, emphasized the Minister of Justice and Public Order Kostas Fytiris, during his meeting with a delegation from the Union of Displaced Communities of Famagusta.

According to a Ministry announcement, issues concerning the displaced communities of the Famagusta district were discussed during the meeting, with particular emphasis on the issue of the usurpation of Greek Cypriot properties in the occupied areas.

In addition, an exchange of views took place on other issues concerning crime prevention and strengthening citizens' sense of security. The Minister of Justice reiterated that respect for the rights of legal owners is a matter of principle for the state.
