G. Gerapetritis: Greece-Cyprus Electricity Interconnection Will Proceed

Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis assured that the electricity interconnection between Greece and Cyprus will proceed, despite reactions.

Speaking to the newspaper "Real News", Mr. Gerapetritis stressed that the project removes the energy isolation of Cyprus. He also mentioned that Greece is not affected by reactions when it comes to exercising its sovereign rights, based on national interest and respect for international law.

Referring to relations with Libya, Mr. Gerapetritis noted that technical discussions are starting for the delimitation of the EEZ and that irregular migration flows from the southern corridor have decreased by 80%.

Regarding the Cyprus issue, the minister expressed satisfaction with the resumption of informal talks and reiterated Greece's commitment to a fair and sustainable solution.

Regarding the war in Ukraine, Mr. Gerapetritis stressed that Greece will continue to support Ukraine in international forums and with humanitarian aid.
