Conference on Polling Integrity in Cyprus

ESOMAR CONNECT, in collaboration with SEDEAK, organized an informative conference on the integrity and ethics of polling in Cyprus. The event, titled “Launching Integrity: Ethical Polling for Cyprus’ Pre-Election Period,” aimed to enhance trust in polls ahead of elections.

SEDEAK President, Eleni Maragou, emphasized that polls are an objective reflection of social perceptions. Joachim Bretcha of ESOMAR highlighted Cyprus's importance as a research hub for Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa.

The first discussion, on the relationship between parties and polls, included Annita Demetriou (DISY), Stefanos Stefanou (AKEL), and Christiana Erotokritou (DIKO). The second discussion highlighted the challenges in conducting polls.

A common conclusion was the need for dialogue regarding the regulation of the publication of polls, with the aim of accuracy and transparency.
