Israeli Embassy in Cyprus: Change of Guard and Questions Arise
Share on:

The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the appointment of Aviv Ezra as the new ambassador to Cyprus, succeeding Oren Anolik in August 2026. The CYPRUS NEWS AGENCY (CNA) announcement clearly stated the timing and process of the succession.

The current ambassador, Oren Anolik, described reports of the termination of his term as exaggerated, comparing his situation to a quote by Mark Twain.

Meanwhile, a moving truck was observed outside the embassy in Ayioi Omologites, raising questions about a possible relocation of the embassy or Ambassador Anolik before the official change.

Residents of the area are awaiting information regarding the possible removal of the embassy, hoping for an improvement in the situation in the area.
