Cyprus: European Military Presence is a Precautionary Measure, says Gov't Spokesperson

The presence of military forces from European countries is a precautionary measure within the framework of the strategic cooperation of the Republic of Cyprus with partners such as France, Greece, Italy, and Spain, aimed at strengthening operational readiness during a period of regional crisis.
This was stated by Government Spokesperson Konstantinos Letymbiotis on the 'Morning Route' program, reiterating that there is no indication that the Republic of Cyprus is a target of attacks, as the two confirmed incidents concerned the British base in Akrotiri.
Regarding the status of the British Bases, Mr. Letymbiotis said that it will be assessed at a later time and not during the management of the ongoing regional crisis.
