K. Plevris Sues KKE: Reactions and Questions Arise

KKE denounces an attempt at political persecution following a lawsuit by Konstantinos Plevris, concerning the referral to Parliament of a file for the lifting of Dimitris Koutsoumbas' immunity. The case concerns a violation of the law on party finances.

The Prosecutor's Office of the Supreme Court defends the referral, emphasizing that it was not manifestly legally unfounded. KKE sources respond that the complaint is false and should have been archived, as the party's finances are audited by a special parliamentary committee.

KKE believes that this move is part of an attempt to slander it and responded with strong criticism of the government. MP Liana Kanelli argued that the aim is to portray KKE as part of the corruption.

Konstantinos Plevris, known for his far-right views, has sued KKE. KKE responds that it will continue its action in the streets of popular demands.
