Kassianidou: Current situation is not a solution for Cyprus

The Deputy Minister of Culture, Dr. Vasiliki Kassianidou, stated that the current state of affairs does not constitute a solution for Cyprus, emphasizing the need for liberation and reunification. The statement was made during the anti-occupation concert "Half a Century of Silence" in Achna.
Mrs. Kassianidou stressed that the Turkish invasion and the ongoing occupation remain an open wound and that the memory of the war remains alive through art and narratives.
She also emphasized the commitment of the President of the Republic to the resumption of talks on the basis of UN resolutions and the principles of the European Union.
The Deputy Minister of Culture underlined the importance of culture and memory as a defense against oblivion and the repetition of destruction.
