Democracy Movement: High Inflation and High Prices Require Political Change

The Democracy Movement is criticizing the government regarding Eurostat's data on inflation in Greece, which reached 3.7% in July, compared to 2.0% in the Eurozone.

The party, led by Stefanos Kasselakis, emphasizes that prices for basic goods continue to rise, burdening vulnerable households. It also calls for an immediate reduction of taxes on basic goods and support for families.

According to Eurostat, prices for food, alcohol and tobacco have the highest annual rate (3.3%), while Greece has been above the European average in inflation since October.

The Democracy Movement emphasizes that high prices are the result of political choices and political change is required to address them.
