Koutsoumbas in Achaia: KKE Questions Measures for Fire-Affected Areas

The General Secretary of the Central Committee of the KKE, Dimitris Koutsoumbas, will visit the fire-affected areas of Achaia on Wednesday, August 20. The visit comes as KKE MPs have submitted a question to the competent ministers regarding the measures to be taken to alleviate the affected.
In their question, MPs Nikos Karathanasopoulos, Christos Katsotis, Giorgos Marinos, Thanasis Pafilis, Nikos Papanastasis, and Diamanto Manolakou, emphasize the need for immediate support measures and restoration of damages caused by the fire on August 12 in Achaia.
The KKE criticizes the government for the lack of preventive measures and argues that the policy of individual responsibility prevails. They demand immediate compensation for those affected, securing the income of farmers and livestock breeders, implementing flood control projects, and strengthening the Fire Department and the Forestry Service.
D. Koutsoumbas' program includes:
- Visit to Vounteni, Patras (09:00)
- Visit to Western Achaia, Roitika area (11:30)
- Meeting with mass organizations in Achaia Clauss (20:00)
