Government Faces Test in Parliament: Inquiry and Preliminary Investigation

The government faces a critical test in the upcoming parliamentary week with the procedures for the establishment of an Inquiry and Preliminary Investigation Committee. These votes are considered important for assessing the government's course until the Thessaloniki International Fair.
On Tuesday, the ND's proposal for the establishment of an inquiry committee will be discussed in the Plenary. On Wednesday, the discussion on the proposals for the establishment of a Preliminary Investigation Committee for former ministers Makis Voridis and Lefteris Avgenakis will follow.
The vote for the inquiry committee is nominal and no differentiations are expected. However, the vote for the Preliminary Investigation Committee is secret, which creates concerns in the government about possible leaks from MPs.
According to reports, efforts have been made to reunite the ND Parliamentary Group. One scenario that circulated was the ND's abstention from the vote for the Preliminary Investigation, in order to avoid leaks.
