Criticism of Solidarity with Palestine: Reactions and Political Implications

Recent mobilizations in solidarity with Palestine and protests regarding the situation in Gaza have provoked reactions, with some characterizing them as "anti-Semitism." This rhetoric, which has also appeared in other countries, has taken institutional form in Greece.
Specifically, it is reported that arrests in Rhodes were also made for violating the anti-racism law, following a relevant statement by the responsible minister. Many believe this is an attempt to discredit the solidarity movement and restrict the right to protest.
It is emphasized that solidarity with Palestine and condemnation of Israeli violence do not constitute racism or anti-Semitism, as they are directed against a state and not against Judaism. The mobilizations highlight the inaction of Western governments in the face of the situation in Gaza, where Israel is violating international law and humanitarian law.
Minister of Justice G. Floridis accused opposition parties of supporting the protest movements for Gaza and expressing solidarity with Palestine, attempting to undermine the strategic alliance with Israel and thereby serving Turkey.
