Twenty-eight bills concerning the reform of the Attorney General's office are under review by the Minister of Justice, following their processing by the Law Office. Attorney General Giorgos Savvides revealed that the Law Office assessed the bills submitted by the executive branch in October 2024.

Mr. Savvides emphasized that the reform was a political decision by the Christodoulides Government. He also expressed disagreements regarding the coincidence of the Attorney General's term with that of the President of the Republic.

In a round table discussion, Evangelos Venizelos supported the separation of the Attorney General's roles to avoid international judicial review. In contrast, Polys Polyviou appeared cautious about the reform, while Achilleas Emilianides stressed the need for the autonomy of public prosecutors. Kostas Paraskevas supported the separation of roles, emphasizing the need for institutional checks and balances in the appointment of officials.
