Cyprus: New Legislative Framework for National Digital Services Coordinator

The Cyprus Radio and Television Authority has assumed the role of National Coordinator for the implementation of European Regulation 2022/2065, known as the DSA (Digital Services Act). This followed a decision by the Council of Ministers in February 2024 and the enactment of relevant legislation on 11.7.2025.
The new law makes the Radio and Television & Digital Services Authority responsible for overseeing the compliance of intermediary service providers with the DSA Regulation.
The DSA Regulation aims to create a safe online environment by imposing obligations on platforms based on their size. The Coordinator monitors the compliance of providers with their obligations, such as mechanisms for reporting and removing illegal content, transparency rules, and protection of users' rights.
The Authority has established an educational center in Evrychou to promote digital literacy.
