Cyprus on alert amid developments in the Middle East

The National Security Council (SEA) in Cyprus is in continuous session under the leadership of President Nikos Christodoulides, focusing on developments in the Middle East.
According to Government Spokesman Konstantinos Letymbiotis, speaking to CYPRUS NEWS AGENCY, the priority is to safeguard regional security and promote diplomacy to avoid escalating tensions.
Cyprus, according to Mr. Letymbiotis, continues to play its role as a reliable pillar of stability and humanitarian assistance, responding to any request to protect human lives and facilitate humanitarian missions.
The Republic of Cyprus is closely monitoring developments, continuously evaluating data, and is in constant contact with its partners, within the framework of responsible and coordinated management of the situations.
Mr. Letymbiotis stressed that Cyprus, as a member state of the European Union and a state in the region with excellent relations with neighboring countries, reaffirms its long-standing role as a bridge of peace and security in the Eastern Mediterranean.
