Government Spokesperson, Konstantinos Letymbiotis, emphasized the importance of accurate information amidst regional crises. Cyprus, he said, is not participating in military operations but is serving its humanitarian role.

Following communication between the President of the Republic and the Greek Prime Minister, four F-16s from the Hellenic Air Force and two frigates arrived in Cyprus. Additionally, a meeting of the National Security Council was held under the President of the Republic of Cyprus.

Mr. Letymbiotis stated that France will assist with a frigate with anti-ballistic and anti-drone systems, while there is coordination with other partners such as Germany and the USA. Cyprus has been sounded out regarding the possible repatriation of third-country nationals.

Regarding the drones that approached the British Base in Akrotiri, the Spokesperson said that there is no indication of a new threat. Cyprus remains in contact with all involved parties, including Lebanon and Israel, for information exchange and regional stability.
