Cyprus Issue: Olguín's Visit to Nicosia Postponed

The planned visit of the Personal Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, María Ángela Olguín Cuéllar, to Nicosia has been postponed due to urgent personal reasons, according to RIK.

The purpose of the visit was to prepare for the trilateral meeting Guterres - Christodoulides - Tatar in New York in late September, after the United Nations General Assembly.

Greek Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis, in an interview with the newspaper «REALNEWS», stated that the Cyprus issue is a top national priority and Athens will make every effort to reunite the island. He also referred to the electricity interconnection between Greece and Cyprus, stressing that the project removes the energy isolation of the Republic of Cyprus.
