Expectations for the Cyprus issue have significantly decreased compared to last December, with both sides focusing on tactics and Confidence Building Measures (CBMs) instead of resuming negotiations.

There is intense maneuvering aimed at creating impressions domestically. If there is no agreement on simple issues, such as opening a road, how will there be agreement on the important ones?

No developments are expected until the end of the Republic of Cyprus' presidency of the EU. Turkey has stated that it does not want mobility in the Cyprus issue, while the Republic of Cyprus also does not seem ready, despite statements of readiness to start talks.
