Lambros Tsouknidas is the new director of Avgi newspaper

Lambros Athanasiou Tsouknidas is taking over as director of the Avgi newspaper, succeeding Spyros Sourmelidis, who resigned. The newspaper announced that Tsouknidas will assume his duties from Monday, December 22, 2025.

Spyros Sourmelidis resigned from his position as director in early December, following a front page headline titled 'SYRIZA-Tsipras parallel lives'. In its announcement, Avgi S.A. stated that Lambros Tsouknidas has a long tenure at the newspaper, starting in 1988 and returning in 2012, where he assumed the position of editor-in-chief and managing editor.
