Latinopoulou: Mitsotakis Lets Erdogan Run Rampant

MEP and President of "Voice of Logic", Afroditi Latinopoulou, criticized the Greek government's stance towards Turkey and the Cyprus issue in an interview.

Latinopoulou stated that Kyriakos Mitsotakis has excluded Cyprus from the Greek-Turkish dialogue, while Erdogan constantly "blackmails and threatens", demanding recognition of the pseudo-state. She also emphasized that the Greek Prime Minister does not raise the issue of the withdrawal of occupying troops.

Referring to Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis, she said that he "is content to bow down to Erdogan" and that there is no willingness to raise the issue of Turkey's accession to the EU at the international level.

Latinopoulou stressed that Turkey should not enter the EU and that Greece's foreign policy is on the wrong track. She also questioned why Greece has to give explanations for research in the Aegean and why Turkish teams have the right to participate in European games, in contrast to the stance taken against Russia after the invasion of Ukraine.

Finally, she expressed her disappointment with Macron, while mentioning that the only one who stated that he would not accept negotiation for Turkey's accession to the EU is Bardella.
